Tel Aviv, 10 September 2024 – Airwayz, a global leader in unmanned air traffic management (UTM), participated in the Municipal Innovation Center (MIC) event, presenting its role in shaping the future of urban airspace management. The event, centered on drone applications for municipalities, provided a platform for Airwayz to demonstrate its expertise in seamless drone operations and air-taxi systems.
In collaboration with FlightOps.io and Propeller Drones, Airwayz showcased a live demo highlighting the integration of drone hardware, control systems, and air traffic management. This demonstration underscored the practical steps needed to ensure safer and more efficient drone operations in urban environments, a core component of the ongoing INDI project (Israel’s UAS ecosystem development initiative).
Tomer Serok, Airwayz’s VP of Sales and Marketing, shared insights on Airwayz’s flagship project in the Netherlands—home to the world’s only advanced commercial drone ecosystem. Drawing comparisons between European progress and Israel’s aspirations, Serok highlighted the importance of municipal partnerships in unlocking the potential of drone ecosystems.
“Drones and air-taxis are transforming how cities manage their airspace, and Airwayz is proud to be at the forefront of this revolution,” said Serok. “We’re excited to work with forward-thinking municipalities eager to embrace smarter, safer skies.”
With local leaders and industry innovators in attendance, the event fostered meaningful discussions on how Israeli municipalities can harness UTM technology for public safety, urban mobility, and smart city initiatives.
